Effective use of milestones, progress tracking and staff performance review to improve learner achievement and success rates

Most organisations now have systems in place to track learner progress - but how well do they work? The effectiveness of the process directly affects learner progress and achievement – in other words ‘provider performance, contract renewal and bottom line’ profit.  Success Rates and Timely Success Rates are excellent measures of how well a programme has worked. They are however measures of past performance. If these figures are not good, it is usually too late to do anything about those learners because they have left the programme.

Effective progress tracking systems using appropriate milestones, ensure that the organisation knows precisely, on a month by month basis, which:

With this type of performance information, managers are in a position to take precise action to ensure that ‘at risk’ learners, do not become early leavers, and that any staff who need support are identified quickly.

Any level of learner drop out is damaging to the learner’s well-being and the organisation’s income and contract renewal/extension opportunities. This workshop will ensure that participants are able to identify how progress tracking and Assessor and performance management can be further developed to ensure optimum performance. In simple terms the workshop will help participants ensure that their organisations are doing all they can to keep learners on track to achievement.

For Whom

This intense and highly interactive workshop is for managers with responsibility for maximising learner progress, success and achievement within training programmes.  The main focus of the workshop is Apprenticeship, Train to Gain and NVQ type programmes

Certificates of Professional Development.

Formal Certificates of Development will be issued, by post, to participants who complete this workshop. These certificates will detail the key learning aims and the face-to-face learning hours undertaken, enabling participants to update their CPD records and logs accordingly. The workshop also allows time, during the day, for participants to reflect on and record their personal learning development and consider how best to apply the knowledge gained on return to work. This element of the programme is designed to maximise the benefits from attending and enable participants to make better review judgments when recording their CPD activities.
